POSTED ON: November 26, 2019
Earlier this month, Aziza Almanakly, a senior electrical engineering student, won second place in the Collegiate Poster Competition at WE19 in Anaheim, California.
WE19 is the world’s largest conference and career fair for women in engineering and technology, put on annually by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), the professional society that held its first meeting of nearly 100 attendees at Cooper Union’s Green Camp in 1950. This year's WE19 had over over 16,600 attendees and included keynote speakers, plenary sessions, more than 200 workshops and presentations, and numerous networking opportunities.
The Collegiate Poster Competition emphasizes the ability to deliver visual presentations on original independent research or project. There were a total of forty finalists selected to present at WE19 and Aziza took second place in the undergraduate poster contest category.
Aziza’s poster highlighted the “Fabrication and Measurement of Devices for Transport of Electrons on Superfluid Helium with Voltage-Controllable Thickness.” View her winning poster here.
