Cooper Students and Faculty at the APS Fluids conference
POSTED ON: December 4, 2017
Cooper Students Rayhan Syed EE'20, Samuel Cavas ME'17 & M.Eng., Skylar Eiskowitz ME'19, Yenchia (Amy) Feng ME'18 and faculty members Professor Mark Luchtenburg and Professor Phil Yecko attended the American Physical Society (APS) division of Fluid Dynamics from November 19th to the 21st , 2017. Amy Feng presented a poster on filamentation of tracers in ocean shear and strain. Rayhan Syed and Samuel Cavas presented a poster on transport of inertial objects in time-dependent flows (George Ho, B.Eng.'19 and Jialun Bao, EE'18 also contributed but were unable to attend the meeting). Skylar Eiskowitz presented a poster on electromagnetic phenomena in granular flows and also gave a talk on the Hall effect in a dusty plasma, stemming from a summer REU at the University of Maryland. Professor Luchtenburg and Professor Phil Yecko presented a talk on the role of inertia in transport in complex flows. Professor Yecko was also a session chair for Nonlinear Dynamics and Coherent Structures.
