Lulu Del Sanchez A'16
"My name is Lucia Del Sanchez, aka Lulu, class of 2016 School of Art. This summer I had the outstanding opportunity to present my work at NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale. I mounted a solo exhibition that centers around the life and work of my late uncle Adolfo Rene Sanchez, a prolific Cuban painter who lived and worked in NYC until his untimely passing from AIDS related complications in 1990.

On November 2, 2023 at 6pm, the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA) will be holding a discussion between artists Wangechi Mutu and Firelei Báez A'04: "Undivided: Wangechi Mutu + Firelei Báez Wangechi Mutu and Firelei Báez, two internally recognized artists, will sit down for a once-in-a-lifetime conversation as they delve deep into unexplored territories within their artistic practices. AMFA’s Undivided series redefines the traditional conventions of an Artist Talk by pairing contemporary artists together to interview each other, creating nothing less than an unforgettable dialogue. Mutu and Baez are both world-builders, creating hybrid art forms that balance relevant topics with fictional universes and fantastical landscapes."
