Student Lecture Series | Jeannette Kuo: Possible Futures
Thursday, March 21, 2019, 6:30 - 8:30pm
If change is the only constant, then our role as architects is to anticipate change. But what does that mean when such futures are unpredictable? How can we design for the as yet unforeseeable? Showing past and recent projects from her office with Ünal Karamuk, Jeannette Kuo will delve into these musings as well as other ruminations of the office, straddling design theory and practice.
Jeannette Kuo is co-founding partner of Karamuk Kuo, a Zurich-based architecture practice with projects ranging from small scale installations to complex institutional projects. Their work focuses on the intersection of structures, space, and social culture with an interest in the collectivity of everyday life. Jeannette has taught at numerous universities including UC Berkeley, MIT and EPF Lausanne. She is currently Assistant Professor in Practice at Harvard GSD.
This event is open to current Cooper Union students, faculty, and staff. Room 315F.
