Gloria Steinem will be in conversation with Salamishah Tillet, Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist and scholar, to discuss the state of women's rights. The event is part of The Gardiner Foundation Great Hall Forum series and a day of Cooper Union programming, including an exhibition on view in the Foundation Building's colonnade windows, dedicated to lifting up and celebrating Great Women Live from the Great Hall. The exhibition runs March 6 through March 19, 2023. The programs are also sponsored by The Ciafone and Argento Family and Debby & Scott Rechler / Rechler Philanthropy.

Tiler Peck is a principal ballet dancer for the New York City Ballet, who has performed leading roles in The Nutcracker,  Romeo and Juliet, The Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake, among others. A dancer since the age of two when she began training at her mother’s dance studio, Bakersfield Dance Company, Peck has trained with former Bolshoi Ballet principal dancer Alla Khaniashvili and with former New York City Ballet dancers Colleen and Patricia Neary and Yvonne Mounsey. Peck entered the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of New York City Ballet, at age 12. In September 2004, Peck became an apprentice with New York City Ballet. In February 2005 she joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet.

Melissa Manchester received her first Grammy nomination for Best Pop Female Vocal Performance in 1979 for “Don’t Cry Out Loud,” winning the Grammy in that category four years later for “You Should Hear How She Talks About You.” In 1980, she became the first recording artist in the history of the Academy Awards to have two nominated movie themes in a single year, “Through The Eyes Of Love” from Ice Castles and “I’ll Never Say Goodbye” from The Promise, and to perform them both on the Oscar telecast.

Melissa Errico has become one of the polestars of the American musical theater. Actress and author, called “an incomparable concert performer” by The Wall Street Journal, she has starred on Broadway in such musicals as My Fair Lady (where The New York Times called her Eliza Doolittle “beguiling"), Anna Karenina, High Society as Tracy Lord, Amour (Tony-nominated for Best Actress), Dracula, White Christmas in the Rosemary Clooney role of Betty, and as Cosette in Les Misérables.

Lisa Fischer is an American singer and songwriter. She found success with her 1991 debut album So Intense, which produced the Grammy Award–winning hit single "How Can I Ease the Pain." She has been a back-up singer for a number of famous artists, including Sting, Luther Vandross, and Tina Turner, and toured with The Rolling Stones from 1989 to 2015. She is featured in the Oscar-winning documentary film 20 Feet from Stardom (2013).

Dormeshia is an American tap dancer, choreographer, and instructor who has been called "the mastress of her generation." At 12, she made her Broadway debut in Black and Blue alongside Gregory Hines, Jimmy Slyde, Buster Brown, and Savion Glover. She was also featured in the Tony Award-winning Bring In Da'Noise, Bring In Da'Funk on Broadway as well as the international tour. She is currently on faculty in the dance department at Barnard College.

Founded in 1984 by choreographer Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, Urban Bush Women (UBW) seeks to bring the untold and under-told stories to light through dance. UBW does this from a woman-centered perspective and as members of the African Diaspora community in order to create a more equitable balance of power in the dance world and beyond.

Alice Wetterlund, a 2003 School of Art alumna, just wrapped a series regular role opposite Alan Tudyk on the upcoming SyFy series Resident Alien.
