Homa Zarghamee gives a free, public lecture as part of the 2018 Fall Intra-Disciplinary Seminar (IDS) lecture series. 

Homa Zarghamee is a behavioral and experimental economist and professor of economics at Barnard College, where she teaches, among other classes, the Economics of Gender and Econometrics. Her research uses psychological insights to understand economic phenomena. Her areas of expertise are the impact of mood on economic behavior, determinants of social preferences, gender and competition, and happiness economics. She received her Ph.D and M.A. in Economics and B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Cornell University. She is also an affiliate scholar at Columbia University's Center for Psychoanalytic Training and a visitor at the Santa Fe Institute.

The Fall 2018 IDS Lecture Series at The Cooper Union is organized by Leslie Hewitt and Omar Berrada. The IDS Public Lecture Series is part of the Robert Lehman Visiting Artist Program at The Cooper Union.
