Matthew Bower

Assistant Professor Adjunct

Matthew S. Bower holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of North Texas and an M.A. in philosophy from the University of Toledo. His specialization is critical theory with a research focus on environmental imagination and climate politics in histories of urban and technological modernity. He is particularly interested in the cultural production and representation of climate mitigation, adaptation, and catastrophe. He currently works in the Communications Office of The Cooper Union and serves on the Second Faculty of the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research.
