Summer Writing Program: On Campus
Imagine a class where an enthusiastic and experienced teacher makes writing interesting. Where the expectations of college-level writing are presented clearly and concretely and you learn the techniques and approaches you need to write analytically. Where there’s plenty of time to practice new skills and see how they connect to strengths you already have. That’s what you’ll find at the Cooper Union Summer Writing Program.
Hands-on Learning and Practice
The best way to learn to write better is to learn new approaches, practice them, and get feedback. That’s why SWP classes are a mix of discussion and hands-on writing. Our classes never have more than ten students, so you’ll get ongoing individualized attention that will help you continuously improve and refine your work. Our instructors not only teach college-level writing, they have years of experience working one-on-one with students, and they love teaching.
In a typical class you’ll:
- Discuss the day’s reading
- Use writing to generate ideas and ask questions about what you’ve read
- Practice the skills you need to develop an argument
- Learn how to build an analytical essay
How much can you learn in three weeks? You’ll be amazed. Register here.
