The fundamentals of observational drawing are taught on-site at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The building itself, the artworks, objects, and people it contains are all possible subjects for study. Basic concepts related to perspective, gesture, contour, value, and mass, are introduced and worked through in eight sessions. These principles are introduced to students individually and with respect to their own stage of development. The class is suitable for absolute beginners and those with previous drawing experience.
