Marian Trendowski A'53 was born in Brooklyn, NY, the beloved daughter of Berta Schweitzer, wife of Chester Trendowski, as well as a wonderful mother to Coral Mitchell. She attended Fort Hamilton HS and graduated from Cooper Union with a degree in Art, specializing in calligraphy.

Maja Coleman Griffin A'17 was born to Shawn and Mia Griffin at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland on December 29, 1995. She departed this life on September 26, 2023.

  • From its beginnings, Cooper Union was a unique institution, dedicated to founder Peter Cooper's proposition that education is the key not only to personal prosperity but to civic virtue and harmony.

  • Peter Cooper wanted his graduates to acquire the technical mastery and entrepreneurial skills, enrich their intellects and spark their creativity, and develop a sense of social justice that would translate into action.
